SERMAC inform with great satisfaction the delivery and installation of a new stationary boom BS57, designed and built on the basis of the specific technical requirements of our Swiss customer Maulini Sa. The value Swiss company Maulini, founded on 1910 in Geneva with 250 employees, is one of the leading companies in the Lake Geneva region in the construction, renovation, civil engineering and general contracting sector.

We are particularly proud to have taken all the steps that led to the delivery and installation of this equipment because the BS57 is currently the placing boom with the largest working radius in the world.

Maulini Sa through his team of engineers, asked SERMAC to develop a large fixed boom capable of operating on one of the most interesting residential sites currently under construction, precisely in Bachet-de-Pesay in south of town. The SERMAC sales office analyzed the demand down to the last detail and coordinated the order with our S-Design technical center who designed and calculated the stationary boom BS57.

The supply consists of:

  • Sub-turret with geared motor (which interfaces specifically with the customer's crane structure already present on site)
  • Counter-boom equipped with concrete ballasts
  • Working and inspection platform
  • Hydraulic unit for the movement of the boom
  • Two sets of radio remote controls provided with 2-speed proportional boom control

Technically the placing boom BS57 is equipped with 6 sections capable of achieving a record maximum horizontal and vertical extension with a radius of 57 m, a maximum working depth of over 47 m with standard concrete pipeline Ø 125 mm (5”) and rubber end hose length 3 m.

The supply has been completed with additional accessories that complete its functionality:

  • Automatic lubrication system
  • Automatic release of the rubber end hose
  • Stop-flow

The Bachet-de-Pesay site provides for the construction of 228 residential housing units by pumping 20,300 m3 of concrete as part of the completion of the structural work.
